Agencia Naviera de México, SA de CV (Agnamex) was established as a shipping agency in September 1975. Its head offices are in Mexico City.

Agnamex established its first regional offices in 1980 at the ports of Tampico and Veracruz.

Agnamex became a shareholder of Corporación Integral de Comercio Exterior, SA de CV (CICE) in 1991, a port and terminal operator company in Veracruz.

Agnamex invested in the incorporation of Operadora de la Cuenca del Pacífico (OCUPA) in Manzanillo in 1995.

Agnamex is a member of Asociación Mexicana de Agentes Navieros A.C. (AMANAC) (the Mexican Shipping Agencies Association); The Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO); and Consejo Empresarial Mexicano de Comercio Exterior, Inversión y Tecnología, A.C. (COMCE) (the Mexican Foreign Trade, Investment and Technology Business Council).
